Dental care in Sweden is partly subsidised by the state. There are two kinds of support that are good to know about. The amounts change over time, so here we only explain how it works. Current amounts are available from Försäkringskassan, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency.

The two kinds of support

SupportHow it works
General dental care grantA yearly grant you can use for dental care. The amount depends on your age
High-cost protectionThe state pays part of the cost when your treatments become expensive

Good to know

  • Providers set their own prices, so prices can differ between clinics.
  • Always ask the clinic in advance how they handle the grants and whether they are connected to Försäkringskassan.
  • Keep receipts and ask what is included in the price.

Ask me before you book

Prices are individual and depend on your needs and oral health. After an assessment you receive a cost estimate and a treatment plan to approve before treatment begins. Call or send a request if you have questions.
